About the guide

A love letter to Wilmington, written in list form.

Hometown Happenings is a community guide to Wilmington, Ohio: events, neighborhood news, local spots, and the stories of the people who make this town home. It is written by a neighbor, for neighbors, and it grows every time a resident shares something worth knowing.

LeaAnn Taylor, author of Hometown Happenings and Realtor with Glasshouse Realty

Why this exists

The idea behind the guide.

Wilmington has a lot going for it: a walkable downtown, a college that has been part of the town since 1870, parks and a lake within a short drive, and traditions that have been celebrated for generations. But the details of daily life, the event that moved, the new shop that opened, the ballfield where everyone meets on Saturdays, tend to live in word of mouth.

Hometown Happenings is that word of mouth, written down. It is the friendly, useful answer to the question we all ask on a Thursday afternoon: what is there to do around here this weekend?

The person behind it

Hi, I'm LeaAnn Taylor.

I'm a local real estate agent who has proudly called Wilmington home since 2013 and has been helping clients navigate the local real estate market since 2017. This isn't just where I work, it is also where my husband and teenage twins call home.

Helping people find the right place to put down roots, whether it's a first home, a growing family home, or an investment, has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. Real estate is personal, and I believe it should feel that way. I take the time to listen, understand what matters most, and guide clients through each step with honesty, care, and clear communication.

Before real estate, I was a high school English teacher, a background that shaped my communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to advocate for others. I hold degrees from The Ohio State University and Xavier University, and I bring that same professionalism to every client relationship.

The real estate side

Real estate, but neighborly.

This guide grew out of my real estate work: the conversations with families moving to Wilmington, the questions about schools and neighborhoods, the pride people feel when they find the right place. So this site is also where you can learn about how I help people buy and sell homes, and how to reach me when the time comes.
